In the early 1900’s Marigold Mayfield started one of the first Emporiums in the Southeastern United States. A true entrepreneur, she was one of the first women to start and run a large department store in the days before shopping malls. She traveled the world looking for “Good Tings” to fill her Emporium and soon the business was thriving and the store became a popular social as well as shopping center, with band concerts every Saturday night. Marigold always felt the customer should come first and taught her staff that if they treated customers like guests in their home they would always come back to shop again. In the 1950’s Marigold’s Good Things Emporium became the Mayfield’s department store chain but Marigold’s commitment to excellence and customer service remained.
We honor that commitment with our on-line “Emporium”. We search hundreds of vendors to find the most unique and useful “Good Things” to stock our shelves with and still believe in Marigold’s creed that “The customer comes first”. We hope you enjoy your shopping experience with us and know that we will strive to carry on Marigold Mayfield’s desire to bring her customers the most unique gifts and collectibles at the best value possible. All that’s missing is the Saturday night band concert.
